Nominate @EccoATL and @LureATL for 2013 Nature’s Plate Awards

The Nature Conservancy is reaching to YOU to nominate your favorite sustainable Atlanta Restaurants to compete in the 2013 Nature’s Plate Awards.

You know quite well that Fifth Group Restaurants is determined to provide you with the best food, beverage, and service imaginable, but did you know that we’re also committed to protecting the environment and responsibly sourcing the freshest ingredients?

We recycle, compost, reduce energy and water consumption, and convert used cooking oil into bio-fuel. By recycling and composting at least 95% of the products that come through our doors, we annually divert more than 500,000 pounds of waste from landfills.

Rainwater harvested from Lure’s roof into a 3,000 gallon reclamation pillow is used in our restrooms and to irrigate plantings and trees, and Ecco was featured in The New York Times as the first restaurant in the state of Georgia to have no need for a dumpster. They recycle or compost everything! This compost is then used in Ecco’s roof-top garden. These homegrown vegetables and herbs make it directly to you through our menu, completely closing the recycling loop.

Nominate Ecco and Lure for Nature’s Plate Awards, and show your support for sustainability!
