- Nearly 1.8 Georgians are living in poverty—that’s enough to fill the Georgia Dome 25 times
- 28.3% of Georgia children are food insecure—that’s more than 700,000 kids under the age of 18
- 1 of 10 senior citizens in Georgia live in poverty
- Those receiving food stamps in Georgia has increased 63% in the past three years
Now it’s time to stand up and once again take a step (or 2,000) toward ending this problem. Every year since 1984, the Atlanta Community Food Bank holds its largest annual fundraiser, the 5K Hunger Walk/Run. This year’s, the event is on Sunday, March 10 and Turner Field.
The Walk/Run raised over $500,000 last year with more than 15,000 people participating and we need your help to keep the momentum going. All proceeds benefit the the Atlanta Community Food Bank and other local nonprofit organizations that support food pantries, community kitchens, shelters and other programs for people in need of food assistance throughout Georgia.
This is a cause that is very near and dear to us at Fifth Group Restaurants. In fact, we’ve been the top corporate fundraiser for the past four years, having raised nearly $100,000 in total thanks to you, our guests. Starting Monday, February 11, you’ can contribute at any of our seven restaurants. How? Just look for the message at the bottom of your check and fill in the amount you’d like to donate.
Have a favorite restaurant or server? Perhaps a friend or family member works for us? You can also support them by clicking their team name below and making a donation online. All donations are tax-deductible.
Thank you for your support and remember: Walk to end hunger. Not away from it.
