Every month, the Tuesday night dinner—which starts at 6:30pm and will be open to only 25 people—will focus on a different region of Mexico and feature a special menu created just for the night. Guests will be seated together around one large table to encourage spirited conversation and invoke a sense of sharing.
May’s theme is “Old Yucatan”—the home of ancient Mayans and the birthplace, many believe, of beloved Mexican staples like tortillas. The menu will feature traditional favorites like cochinita pibil (pork roasted in banana leaves), tikin xic (grilled fish rubbed with achiote) and braised turkey in green pumpkin seed sauce along with other Yucatan specialties.
Tickets are only $30/person (including tax and online service fee; excluding gratuity and alcohol) and may be purchased online.
Future themes include:
June 14 “Mexico D.F.”– Mexico City’s vibrant street foods, including pinchos, paletas and agua frescas
July 12 “Zihuatanejo”–a celebration of the old fishing port, with a menu built around the bounties of this old-world Pacific beach town
August 16 “Las Frutas Prohibidas”–a variety of plates that feature the exotic fruits of Mexico and Central America
September 6 “Los Antojitos”–a meal of many small plates from many different regions of Mexico, including pambazos, gorditas, tlacoyos and mamelas
October 11 “Birria de Chivo”–a meal centered on the traditional goat stew to greet the cooler weather
November 1 “Dia de los Muertos”–the feast that accompanies the traditional family gathering to celebrate and remember the dead
